SUMMARY MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
June 9, 2008
Frank Furillo has agreed to direct our fall show,
Play On. A producer or co-producers for the show will now
be identified. Show dates will be October 23, 24, 25, 30, 31,
and November 1, 2008.
The Board agreed to have patriotic theme quilts
displayed in our front window for the July 4th celebration.
There was continued discussion about our theater
seat replacement and theater improvement project. A vendor will
prepare a sample chair made from materials that the Board has
selected. The chair will be used in our fund raising efforts.
We will be contacting the Leadership Stoughton group
to help in our work to raise funds.
A list of maintenance projects that need attention
in the theater has been developed, to be circulated to members
in search of volunteers.
The production of Hamlet, although not a
SVP show, was staged by a group of young performers and went very
well.
Pending receipt of some additional information,
the Board agreed to stage Bingo as an "extra" show in December,
2008.
Our summer picnic will be on August 17th, starting
at 3 o'clock at the residence of Rich Morris.
With no meeting in July, the next Board meeting
will be held on Monday, August 11th at 6:30 p.m. at the offices
of Stark Realty Company.

May 19, 2008
Fair Today Gone Tomorrow has been well received,
although not all shows were sold out. The Board discussed possible
causes and thoughts as to our approach next year.
Our auditorium refurbishing project was discussed,
and it was agreed that it will entail repairs and painting in
the theater as well as replacement of carpeting and installation
of new seats. The anticipated timing will be to start fund raising
in September and do the required work in the summer of 2009.
The roof has been repaired and is expected to solve
the problem of leaking.
We continue the search for a director for Play
On, our fall 2008 show.
It was agreed that we will develop a list of maintenance
projects that need attention in the theater, then provide this
list to our members with a request for volunteers.
The next Board meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday,
June 9th at the offices of Stark Realty.

April 8, 2008
Rehearsals have started for Fair Today Gone Tomorrow,
and the production team is in place.
An acceptable bid for roof repairs has been approved,
and the work will start as soon as drier weather arrives.
Officers elected were: President-Jerry Lapidakis,
Vice President-Kathy Horton, Secretary-Ed Smith, and Treasurer-Tony
Hill.
The search for a director for Play On, our
fall 2008 show, continues.
A possible small show for December was discussed.
We have obtained bids for replacing the existing
theater seats at a cost of approximately $30,000. In addition,
carpeting will need to be replaced. Plans to fund the cost will
be developed, and it is anticipated that the new seats could be
installed during the summer of 2009.

be a large cast musical.
The next Board meeting will be at 7 o'clock on Tuesday,
April 8th at the offices of Stark Realty.

February 12, 2008
The playwrights are working hard on our Syttende
Mai production, and Dan Prueher provided a brief recap of the
story.
Frank Furillo, director of Love, Sex and the
IRS, will present a short, interesting and fun program at
our annual meeting on March 29th.
The SVP scholarship for a high school student was
set at $500.
A workday is scheduled for Sunday, February 24th,
from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Final cleaning prior to the opening
of the show as well as other projects to be handled then.
A possibility exists that we may enlist Leadership
Stoughton in fundraising activities.

JANUARY 15, 2008
Rehearsals for Love, Sex & The IRS are going
well. The production team is in place, posters are ready for distribution,
and large posters will be displayed this week.
The roof patch is working, but a recent leak is
from before the patch was done. The Board will need to discuss
fund raising for a roof replacement, which will cost approximately
$25,000.
The Stanway Case was selected for our drama
to be staged in the spring of 2009. It will be announced on our
website, and we will advertise for a director.
Our annual meeting will be on March 29, 2008, at
Halversons' restaurant. Terms of four directors are expiring:
Hill, Gohlke, Luschen, and Ketterer, and elections will be held.
The next Board meeting will be at 6 o'clock on Tuesday,
February 12th at the theater.

DECEMBER 15, 2007
The Board decided to give a $500 scholarship to
a high school student interested in performing arts.
he production team for Love, Sex & The IRS is nearly
in place, with Kathy Horton and Jerry Lapidakis serving as co-producers.
To encourage donations and membership renewals,
the membership year was changed to conform to the calendar year.
Online donations and membership renewals will be
encouraged.
Play On was selected for our comedy show
to be staged in October, 2008.
The next Board meeting will be at 7 o'clock on Tuesday,
January 15th at the offices of Stark Realty.

NOVEMBER 13, 2007
The Board discussed a possible joint project with
Stageworks Productions.
Frank Furillo, who will direct Love, Sex & The
IRS, met with the Board to discuss the show. Auditions were
set for Sunday and Monday, December 16 and 17, 2007, and the budget
for the production was adopted.
The staging of 1776 was discussed and the show was
considered to be very successful.
Backstage restroom facilities are nearing completion.
Up to $400 was approved for temporary roof repairs,
since more permanent work will need to wait until next year.
The next Board meeting will be at 6 o'clock on Saturday,
December 15th at the Lapidakis residence.
