Why we need
you...
SVP is a great way to meet new people and be a part of
a 30-year-old tradition. Whether you want to be on stage
or behind the scenes, there are plenty of ways to help out.
Volunteers make things happen and keep SVP alive but the
real reason to get involved is because it fun.
We are expanding and need talented, enthusiastic people
with new ideas and energy to help us grow. As part of a
creative venture, you will find opportunities to make each
project different, adding your own special flair to each
project.

How would you like
to help?
Here are a few of the teams that could use your help
|
|
|
|
Costumes
You can help find and/or make costumes, maintain the costume
area, research styles for different eras, monitor costume
budgets for shows, and attend monthly or quarterly workdays
to go through donations and help organize the costume area.

Fundraising
Help return the Badger Theater to its 1920s glory! Thanks
to our MANY SUPPORTERS.
House/Ushers
The goal of this team is to create the best, most comfortable
and fun theater experience for our audiences. Theater maintenance,
building improvement projects and ushering are handled in
this group. Ushers are key ambassadors for our group and
the performances.
Lights and
Sound
Set lights for tech week, program computer and run computer
and light board for tech week and performances, assist in
light design for stage, set sound cues in computer, run
sound cuses during tech week and performances, take cues
from stage manager or assistant director, and watch the
shows for free!

|
Makeup
and Hair
Assist directors and producers with specific production
needs and planning, research hair and makeup trends for
different eras as relates to shows, assist actors with styling
hair and makeup applications, and you may need to help with
last-minute costume, makeup, and hair fixes (i.e. you should
work well with safety pins!) .
Music
If you are musically inclined, you may be interested in
playing an instrument for a show, coaching vocalists, playing
piano for rehearsals, or acting as music director for a
show.
Poster/Artwork/Brochures/Program
Seeking artists, creative minds, and writers for designing
and organizing printed materials. Program requires soliciting
advertisers and collecting payment from them. Poster requires
design/artistic skills and finding people to help distribute
the posters around town and the Madison area. We also need
people to help design membership and fundraising brochures.

Props
Are you organized? Help us find and maintain props for shows,
determine the usefulness of past props (are they worth keeping?)
and maybe even stick around to help backstage during performances.
Publicity
Help us get the word out! Contact radio stations, TV stations,
newspapers, and area businesses with show information. Maybe work
with Website Committee with links. Maintain the SVP page on www.madstage.com,
and post audition and show dates in various media venues.
Set
Construction
Handy with a hammer? This team helps design/build sets and special
props for each show.
Set
Design/Painting/Decoration
Help design, paint, and decorate sets plus other theater projects.
Social
Events/Parties
Organize our parties, host a party, find hosts, purchase beverages
and supplies, and/or monitor social budget for shows. Be sure
to invite everyone!
Stage
Managing/Assistant Director
A job for a patient, organized person with a "can do"
attitude! Assist cast and director during rehearsals and shows,
read lines for missing actors, feed lines to forgetful actors,
soothe the egos of certain actors, and be "right-hand"
for director. May have some duties supervising other behind-the-scenes
volunteers. Call cues for lights and sound during performances.
Theater
Restoration/Preservation
We need able-bodied carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and handy
people to work backstage, design and construct special building
and maintenance projects year round.
Website
To help us maintain the website, check content, proofread, design,
maintain, or verify information for our website.
For information on any of
these contact svp@stoughtonvillageplayers.org.
