Neil Simon's 1965 classic is considered to be his best comedy. Set in New York during a hot 1960's summer, the story follows the adventures of two mismatched roommates; Felix Ungar, a neurotic fusspot news writer, and Oscar Madison, a slovenly sports journalist. The men attempt to adapt to each other's idiosyncrasies, all the while trying to rekindle their social lives ... with side-splitting results.

The show stars Patrick Fernan as Felix and Phil Evans as Oscar. Their poker playing buddies are played by: Bob Breen as Murray, J. Peter Shaw as Vinnie, Darrell Wrolstad as Roy, and Brett Brasher as Speed. Sheri Meland and Nicole Hale portray Gwendolyn and Cecily, two English ladies who live in Oscar's apartment building.

Join us at Oscar's apartment for an enjoyable evening of fun and laughs. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 8, 9, 10 and 15, 16, 17, with a matinee on Sunday, March 11.

"Thurber Carnival", SVP's 40th Anniversary Show
Coming in October

In 1972, when a small group got together in a friend's home, they decided to put on a live performance of "The Thurber Carnival". This small group was the beginning of the Stoughton Village Players. Now forty years later SVP will again stage James Thurber's collection of humorous stories and sketches. Watch here for October show dates, as well as audition and ticket information.1972 Thurber Carnival

Planning a season of shows will help potential actors and production people time to prepare for auditions and plan their volunteer activities with SVP. It also alerts our audience to the fantastic theater they can experience here in Stoughton.

Reading and recommending shows is the work of the Play Reading Team, with final decision by the SVP Board of Directors. Many factors go into selecting a show including: cast size, number of parts for men and women, cost of production, audience and community preferences.
