The Annual Picnic Returns
Stoughton Village Players was definitely disappointed to cancel the annual community picnic last summer due to COVID-19, but we are back for 2021 and really looking forward to seeing folks. Anyone and everyone is invited on Sunday, August 29 at 2 pm to come down to Virgin Lake Park, 1901 Roby Rd, in Stoughton. This is a great opportunity for current SVP members and new theater enthusiasts alike in a pleasant, relaxed setting. Not only can people enjoy eating, drinking, games and mingling, but also learn more about what SVP has worked on during the hiatus and what it's planning for the future.
Here are a few highlights to look forward to:
Here are a few highlights to look forward to:
- Food, drinks & games
- Meet, chat each other up, and celebrate getting through 2020
- Learn how our theater is doing, including its centennial anniversary this year
- Hear about SVP's next upcoming milestone
- Hear more about upcoming activities, projects & shows, including:
|
The exciting revival of our cancelled March 2020 production -- The Foreigner, an edgy & absurd comedy set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia featuring a shy Englishman in search of quiet and maybe himself.
|
|
And the Spring 2022 production: Angel Street. Originally produced under the title, Gaslight, it tells the suspenseful drama of what appears to be a tranquil Victorian home but secretly concealing a plot to drive a young, devoted woman to the brink of madness.

What else do you need to know? Beverages (alcoholic and non), plates, utensils, games and a grill will be provided by SVP. However, please bring a dish for all to share as well as your own meat if you wish to use the grill. Basically though, check in post-quarantine and have fun.
Additionally, since Stoughton Village Players once again cancelled its Annual Meeting, feel free to bring your membership dues of $20 (cash or check) per person to the picnic. Should you prefer to handle it electronically, remember you can register for the year and/or renew all memberships and pay online by visiting the MEMBERSHIP tab on the top of our website. Or if you already paid dues but cash is burning a hole in your pocket, feel free to nab some merchandise. A handful of logo items will be available for purchase at the picnic as well.
Join us. Better yet, bring a friend! No RSVP necessary. Just show up with a smile. We promise: no sad bears this year.
