NEWS & UPDATES
We are once again supporting the Stoughton Historical Society for their annual event. This year they are having a Vintage Market called Retro on the River Vintage Market, on Saturday , September 7. We have purchased a table where we can sell some treasures. All the proceeds for the sale will go to support the Stoughton Youth Players.
We are looking for donations of your treasures for sale. We will be collecting at the Badger Theater:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday August 26, 27 & 29 - 4:30 - 7:00
Saturday, August 31 10:00 - 12:00
Wednesday and Friday, September 4 & 6 - 4:30 - 7:00
If you have any vintage clothes, (dating before 2000) or items that might be considered collectible or antique. We would love to take them off your hands. Please be ready to tell us what you feel we should charge. Anything not sold that day will be donated to St. Vincent's after the sale.

Discover local history at Whispers on Main Street - September 1, 2022
It’s July, 1947, and Stoughton has just completed celebrating one of the biggest parties in its history: our 100th anniversary weekend.
But a tragedy has occurred (the murder of Shorty Johnson) and your help is needed to find the culprit. For this event, groups will be authorized to officially follow the clues down Main Street, learning about architecture and history along the way.
Once again, the Stoughton Historical Society (in collaboration with Stoughton Village Players) has planned a unique fund-raising event from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. In past years, attendees learned about key people by visiting a cemetery and hearing from actors portraying them.
Most recently, they encountered actors telling stories as exhibits in the Historical Museum came alive. This year acknowledges our 175th anniversary in 2022 by revisiting the town as it was during our centennial year.
Docents (“private investigators”) will walk with each group, stopping at specific places to hear about the buildings and giving clues for the mystery to be solved. The tour will end at the Stoughton Village Players Theater where suspects will be grilled, evidence examined and the guilty party identified… with the audience’s help.
Nancy has worked with Tony Hill and Angy Gagliano from SVP to create this event and a cast of locals will serve as guides, actors and helpers. Participants include: Gary Smithback, Dave Conour, Tony Ketterer, Amy Ketterer, Carol Gunnelson, Georgran Pentel-Nicholson, Rebecca Haglund, Stephanie Robey, Mary Kohlhepp, Sherri Buskager, Pam Haese, Nicole Hale, Mike Olson, Sandra Black, Caroline Brenny, Chrsi Erickson, Rachel Hagen, Parker Hagen, Karen Haugen, Linda Hopper, Callie LaPoint, Mary Onsager, Kathy Farris, Chris Milligan, Dean Hanson and Linda Gullickson.
Tickets are $10 and are available the day of the event under the overhang at the Livsreise Heritage Museum, 277 W. Main St. Attendees will select a time to start the adventure within the 2-6 timeframe with tours starting every 10 minutes.

Stoughton Village Theatre celebrates its centennial -
Stoughton Courier Hub As you know, our theater opened in 1921 so we had plenty of events, videos and other celebratory stuff happening in 2021. One interesting date is that the first movie shown at the Badger Theater (our predecessor) was Isobel on MARCH 29, 1921... almost exactly 100 years ago. Check out this article from the Hub remembering Badger Theater's first 100 years. |
