Come join us in celebrating 50 Years of SVP productions with a Variety Show!
Show Dates:
Friday, March 15th @ 7:30pm,
Saturday, March 16th @ 2:30pm & 7:30pm
We are looking for “stage ready” acts that come from shows that SVP has produced over our 50 years as a community theater. These performances can be done by any actor(s), not necessarily those who originated the role(s) with SVP. We would like the show to include singing, dancing, comedy, monologues… a variety of pieces from our 50 years of productions.
You will need to select something from one of the musicals or plays we have produced over these 50 years. Pieces not contained in this list will not be considered.
The production team will help you “tweak” these performances for our stage. You will have two or three rehearsals prior to tech week to get some direction and notes, however we request that you come with something you are ready to perform and can largely perfect with your group on your own.
December 10 th; 11 th from 7-10pm, the production team will need to “preview” your act to determine its length, staging requirements and fit for our production. This is not an “audition”per se, although the production team will need to reserve the right to limit the acts according to the above requirements. Please note: we may not be able to accommodate all acts that come out to previews.
During January and the first weeks of February, we ask that you work on your act on your own time/location.
Beginning February 20th, we will call acts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as needed to run them in the theater. Each act will have just two or three rehearsals on the stage prior to tech/production week to work on sound, lighting, pace, transitions, etc.
There will be a mandatory, full dress rehearsal for everyone involved in the production on Wednesday, March 14th at 6:00 p.m. and at least one additional required rehearsal earlier that week.
